A community built by women, for women in business

Busiqueens is India's community and business platform for women entrepreneurs. We started as a Facebook group in Kolkata in 2021. Today we run a verified business directory, the AAINA Luxury Exhibition by Busiqueens, the annual Busiqueens Awards, a magazine and meetups, all with one aim: help women grow businesses they are proud of.

Our story

From one Facebook group to a platform for 8,400+ women

On 7 June 2021, in the middle of the pandemic, Atoofa Khushnood, founder of Busiqueens, started a small Facebook group called Super Womanpreneurs. The idea was simple: women running businesses from home in Kolkata needed one place to find customers, ask questions and cheer each other on.

The group grew faster than anyone expected. Online meet-ups became offline meet-ups. A mehendi competition became a makeup competition, then a kiddy party, then a picnic. Members asked for a way to show their work, so the first Super Womanpreneurs Magazine was printed. Members asked to be recognised, so the first awards night was held.

On 4 February 2024 the community became Busiqueens, a registered trademark, with a name that says what it is: a place for women who mean business. In 2026 we held our first AAINA Luxury Exhibition with 55 stalls and 800+ visitors, opened nominations for the fifth anniversary awards, and launched this website with a verified business directory so every member can be found.

We are still the same group at heart. Real women, real businesses, and a founder who replies to messages herself.

Atoofa is a Kolkata entrepreneur and educator who built Busiqueens from a Facebook group into a platform that thousands of women rely on. She hosts every event, edits every magazine edition, and still checks new directory listings herself.

How we keep the directory genuine

A directory is only useful if every listing is real. Here is what happens before a business goes live on busiqueens.com, and what keeps it honest after.

Listing Policy

Checked by a real person

Every new listing is reviewed by the Busiqueens team before it appears. We look at the business, the photos and the contact details.

Women-owned, declared and verified

Listings are for women-owned businesses. The owner declares it on the form and we verify it before approval.

Certificate with a QR code

Approved listings get a numbered certificate. Scan the QR code to confirm it on busiqueens.com. Numbers are issued once and never reused.

Valid for one year

Listings are renewed every year, so the directory never fills up with closed businesses.

Reviews are moderated

Nominee and business reviews are checked before they appear. No fake reviews, no paid reviews.

Report a problem

Seen a wrong or fake listing? Tell us and we act within two working days. Data download and deletion requests are honoured.

"Verified" means we checked the listing, not that we guarantee a product or result.

Stories on Busiqueens are written by Busiqueens Editorial, our in-house team. We interview each member by phone, video call or in person, or she writes in her own words. Before publishing, we check names, dates, numbers and business details with her, and a story goes live only with her approval. If something is wrong, tell us and we correct it.
