How to choose a wellness professional
Looking after your body and mind is personal, and it helps to work with someone who listens. Many women in our community run yoga classes, fitness sessions, nutrition plans and counselling practices. Here is how to choose with care.
Be clear about what you need. Is it general fitness, prenatal yoga, weight management, better eating habits or someone to talk to? Share your goals, your routine and any health conditions when you first message. A good practitioner will tell you honestly whether she can help.
Check qualifications and experience. Ask about her training and certifications, and how long she has worked with people like you. For nutrition and counselling, ask about her formal qualifications. Every listing on Busiqueens is reviewed by our team before it goes live, and the Verified badge shows it has been checked.
Keep your doctor in the loop. Wellness services support your health but do not replace medical care. If you are pregnant, recovering from illness or on medication, talk to your doctor before starting a new exercise or diet plan.
Agree the format and schedule. Confirm whether sessions are one to one or in groups, at home, in a studio or online, and the days, timings and length. For counselling, ask how your privacy is protected and what happens to your notes.
Talk about fees clearly. Ask for the fee per session or per month, what is included, and the policy for missed sessions. Be careful of anyone who promises guaranteed results: real change comes step by step.
Read the reviews. Reviews from other women tell you about approach, patience and punctuality. After a few sessions, come back and leave a review. It helps the next person and supports a woman-led practice.
When you are ready, contact the practitioner directly on WhatsApp or by phone from her profile.
